The Pearl is a dynamic neighborhood built around the historic Pearl Brewery,which operated from 1883 to 1999. Located just north of downtown San Antonio on the banks of the San Antonio River, it is home to architecturally significant buildings like the brewhouse and stable—both built in 1894—and numerous plazas. Today, The Pearl is home to dozens of unique culinary concepts, one-of-a-kind retail, weekend markets, residential communities, office tenants, the San Antonio Campus of the Culinary Institute of America, and the award-winning Hotel Emma.

The brainchild of its three Frenchmen founders, Mon Chou Chou’s menu highlights the cuisine of their homeland, enriched with fond memories of meals shared with family and friends throughout their lives. Many of the featured dishes are directly influenced by the trio’s respective grandmothers, as well as the many inspiring cities and diverse regions of France. Together they developed an epicurean friendship.
Today, the Brasserie brings their dream to life. Mon Chou Chou introduces their passion for French comfort food in the beautiful Historic Pearl and the city they love to call home.

Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery, helmed by San Antonio Chef Jeff Balfour, brings a modern take on Texas’ cross-cultural cuisine to Pearl. Influenced by the coastal classics of Chef Balfour’s upbringing in Galveston married with the comfort of southern cuisine, Southerleigh boasts a curated, seasonally shifting menu that reflects Chef Balfour’s innovative craftsmanship.
Southerleigh will house a custom manufactured brewery designed by Portland Kettle Works, and brings brewing back to Pearl offering 15 different beers on tap. Southerleigh is located at 136 East Grayson, Suite 120, on the ground floor in the historic Pearl brewhouse.
